About Andrew Lanius, Esq.
Andrew Frank Lanius was born and raised in Lake County, Florida by James and Lois Lanius. James, his father, is a Navy Veteran and respected local business owner. Lois, his mother, is the founder and president of a local non-profit animal charity. After Andrew graduated from Eustis High School in 2004 he proceeded to earn his Bachelor of Arts Degree, in the field of Political Science, from the University of Florida in 2008. After he completed his degree, Andrew was able to realize a long standing goal of attending law school and, in 2008, he landed at the Shepard Broad College of Law at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Andrew graduated from the Shepard Broad College of Law in 2011 and promptly sat for, and successfully passed, both the Florida and New Jersey Bar exams. Andrew was admitted to practice law in the State of Florida on September 20, 2011. After receipt of his law license Andrew quickly accepted a position as an Associate Attorney at a local law firm in Mount Dora, Florida in 2011. At such position Andrew specialized in Estate Planning and foreclosure defense (as such was a ripe time for the foreclosure industry) but also handled several probate matters. Such legal work was done in Lake, Sumter, Marion, Orange and Seminole counties. During this formative period of time for Andrew's career he not only learned a great deal about the private practice of law but, more significantly, he also learned the extreme importance of providing a quality customer service experience for all clients.
In July of 2013 Andrew accepted a new position as the Municipal Prosecutor for the City of Hollywood Attorney's Office in Broward County, Florida. The City of Hollywood has over 150,000 residents and is the twelfth largest city in the state of Florida according to the U.S. Census Bureau. At the City Attorney's Office, Andrew was responsible for the prosecution of City Ordinance violations in both the criminal and civil contexts. In the criminal context Andrew has filed, settled and tried hundreds of criminal trials independently before the Broward County Judges. In a civil context Andrew was the lead attorney for Hollywood's bi-monthly code enforcement hearings and also handled any/all appellate matters arising from such code enforcement actions. As the City's sole Prosecutor, Andrew worked closely with the Hollywood Police Department and Fire Departments and has the utmost respect for all individuals whom, in such capacities, risk their lives everyday.
After five years with the City of Hollywood Attorney's Office Andrew decided to open Lanius Law Firm, P.A. in March of 2018 with the goal of providing hands-on individualized legal service for his clients. Andrew looks forward to helping you with your legal needs.
Andrew currently lives in Mount Dora, Florida with his wife.
